Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst, is thrust right in the middle of a power struggle within the Colombian drug cartel after one of the President's "life long" friends is murdered, apparently in retaliation for stealing money as part of a money laundering scheme for the cartel.

Jailbreak

A business man is falsely accused of murder, sentenced to death, and incarcerated in a state penitentiary where he awaits his execution. Committed to prove his innocence, he develops an escape plan. He convinces several fellow inmates that freedom is possible and begins his attempt to escape.
